Refund Policy

This policy explains how refunds are handled for purchases made within the Tournamaker mobile application. By making a purchase, you agree to this policy in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Last updated: March 2026  ·  support@tzastech.com

1. Scope of This Policy

This policy applies to:

  • In-app purchases (such as participant tier unlocks, subscription features, and other digital tools); and
  • Tournament registration fees processed through third-party payment processors on behalf of tournament organizers.

All payments are processed securely by third-party providers such as Google Play Billing, Apple App Store / StoreKit, and payment processors (e.g., Stripe or similar providers). We do not store payment card numbers on our servers.

2. In-App Purchases (Digital Features)

Tournamaker offers in-app purchases for digital content and features, including (but not limited to):

  • Participant tier unlocks (tournament size limits)
  • Organizer tools or subscription-based features
  • Other digital enhancements within the app

These purchases are generally considered final and non-refundable once the product has been delivered or made available, except where required by the policies of the app store or applicable law.

A. Google Play Purchases

If you made a purchase through the Google Play Store, your transaction is governed by Google Play's refund rules and terms. You may request a refund directly through Google Play. We follow Google's decisions regarding refunds for purchases made via Google Play. If Google grants a refund, your access to the related digital content or feature will be revoked.

B. Apple App Store Purchases

If you made a purchase through the Apple App Store, your transaction is governed by Apple's refund policies. Refund requests must be submitted directly through Apple. If Apple grants a refund, your access to the related digital content or feature will be revoked.

C. Non-Refundable Digital Items

Unless required by app store policies or applicable law, the following are generally non-refundable:

  • Participant tier unlocks that have already been applied to your account
  • Subscription periods that have already begun
  • Digital tools or enhancements that have been delivered or used

3. Tournament Registration Fees

Tournamaker may allow tournament organizers to charge registration fees to participants. These payments are processed securely by third-party payment processors on behalf of organizers, with Tzastech S-Corp acting as the platform.

A. How Tournament Payments Are Handled

To protect participants from fraud and abuse:

  • Funds paid as tournament registration fees may be held by the payment processor on behalf of the platform and the organizer until the tournament is confirmed or completed.
  • Organizers do not receive immediate access to funds simply because a player has registered.
  • In the event of tournament cancellation or invalidation, refunds may be triggered according to this policy and the applicable payment processor's rules.

B. Refunds for Cancelled or Deleted Tournaments

If a tournament for which you paid a registration fee is cancelled by the organizer, or cancelled or removed by the platform, we will generally initiate a refund of the registration fee to participants, subject to:

  • The policies of the payment processor or app store involved;
  • Applicable laws and regulations; and
  • Any irrecoverable processing fees charged by payment providers.

Our goal is to ensure that participants are not unfairly charged for tournaments that do not occur.

C. Refunds When Leaving or Being Removed

Refund eligibility depends on when the participant leaves or is removed and why.

  • Participant leaves before the tournament starts: We may initiate a refund of the registration fee, subject to the payment processor's rules and any non-recoverable processing fees.
  • Participant is removed (kicked) before the tournament starts: We may initiate a refund, subject to the payment processor's rules and any non-recoverable processing fees, unless the participant was removed due to cheating, abuse, fraud, chargeback-related activity, or other violations.
  • Participant leaves after the tournament starts: Registration fees are generally non-refundable once the tournament has started, except where required by law or exceptional circumstances.
  • Participant is removed (kicked) after the tournament starts: Registration fees are generally non-refundable once the tournament has started, except where required by law or exceptional circumstances.
  • Removal due to rule violations or misconduct: Registration fees are non-refundable.

Processing fees charged by payment processors (such as Stripe) are typically non-refundable. When refunds are issued, the refunded amount may be reduced to account for any non-recoverable processing fees.

D. No Cash Payouts for Unplayed Events

Participants are not entitled to additional compensation or damages beyond the refund of the registration fee (if applicable). Tournamaker and Tzastech S-Corp are not liable for travel costs, time, or other indirect expenses related to cancelled or modified tournaments.

4. Refund Requests and Disputes

A. How to Request a Refund

Depending on where you made your purchase:

  • Google Play: Request a refund directly through Google Play's refund portal or support page.
  • Apple App Store: Request a refund directly through Apple's report a problem portal.
  • Other payment processors (e.g., Stripe via web checkouts): Contact our support team at support@tzastech.com with your payment receipt and account details.

We may ask for additional information to verify your identity and the transaction before taking action.

B. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If you dispute a charge directly with your bank or payment provider (a “chargeback”), access to the related digital content, features, or tournament participation may be suspended or revoked. Repeated chargebacks or fraudulent claims may result in:

  • Restriction of certain features
  • Suspension of your account
  • Permanent removal from the platform in severe cases

5. Technical Issues and Failed Access

If you paid for a digital feature or tournament registration and did not receive access, or experienced a technical issue preventing normal use, please contact us promptly at support@tzastech.com. In many cases, we will first attempt to restore access or fix the issue. If that is not possible, we may guide you through the appropriate refund process via the app store or payment provider.

6. Organizer Misconduct and Fraud Prevention

We take fraud and abuse seriously. If we determine that an organizer repeatedly cancels tournaments after collecting fees, attempts to misuse funds, or engages in deceptive or abusive behavior, we may:

  • Cancel or suspend their tournaments
  • Restrict their access to payouts
  • Issue refunds to affected participants where possible
  • Terminate their account and/or report activity to the relevant payment providers

7. Changes to This Refund Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app, payment processors, or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of Tournamaker after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Refund Policy.
